Craft retailer launches campaign to get nation sewing as 70 per cent of nation admits to not knowing how to sew on a button. As the popularity for sewing continue continues to grow, Hobbycraft has launched a campaign to help get even more people started.
The Sew Simple campaign which launched in July has been created to help customers choose, set up, and use their new sewing machines, in an attempt to help new sewers every step of the way.
The campaign comes as a follow on to the sewing petition which Hobbycraft launched last year*, which aimed to get sewing back on the national curriculum following a survey which revealed 70 per cent of young adults didn't know how to sew on a button.
Whether you buy your sewing machine in store or online Hobbycraft is ensuring you get off to a good start with experienced colleagues on hand to help and a series of detailed video available online. Each machine also comes with a free Sewing Machine Driving Test - just like driving a car, you'll start by going in a straight line, before mastering curves and corners, and even going into reverse
Hobbycraft is also launching sewing surgeries in store to support with all of your sewing problems, simply call your local store to book. More information on the campaign can be found at www.hobbycraft.co.uk/sew-simple
