£500,000 of training funding made available to retrain in international trade

The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) has announced that it's making £500,000 of funding available to help workers who have been furloughed, made redundant or become unemployed. In recognition of the end of the furlough scheme, the IOE&IT has developed a new 'Step into International Trade' training programme. International trade is integral to the UK's economy and making sure that it continues to flourish will be a hugely important part of the country's recovery from the pandemic. At the same time, since the end of the Brexit transition period, the UK is also undergoing the most significant set of revisions to its trade policy for half a century. Susan Bonnar from Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire has this week been named as one of the UK's most 100 inspirational female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain's f:Entrepreneur '#ialso100' campaign. The British Craft House entrepreneur has been recognised for making a powerful contribution to society, the economy and communities.Susan who founded The British Craft House in 2019, is being showcased alongside 100 female entrepreneurs from across the UK, as part of the campaign's recognition of the multi-achievements of women that have proved critical to society during the COVID-19 pandemic. The British Craft House is an online platform, which Susan launched just over a year ago, now supporting more than 500 independent artisans from all over the UK. New shows for Crafter’s TV community

Crafter's TV, the digital platform owned by Crafter's Companion, is launching a schedule of brand-new shows to keep crafters entertained throughout the UK lockdown. In addition to Crafter's TV regular line-up, the platform will broadcast three additional shows from the 11 January, enabling people to tune in to up to five live specials, featuring seven hours of crafting fun every day. These will include two daily Craft Vault shows, where crafters can access unmissable offers and deals, as well as the channel's brand-new Wake Up Call show. Sue Nayler, director of The Wholesaler (UK) Ltd has made Craft Focus aware of fraudsters claiming to be their company. Here's what Sue had to say, "The Wholesaler Ltd web address: https://www.thewholesaler.co.uk has recently been made aware of the existence of a scam website using the url: https://www.thewholesalerukltd.com.This fraudulent site is calling itself The Wholesaler (UK) Ltd and is using our company registration number on its site and on invoices that it's sending out. It's also using the address of our accountant as its contact address.... read more
