ICHF Events and Sarah Hurley have announced a multi-year partnership to bring creative business education to the CHSI Stitches programme of events through Sarah's new 'Sarah Hurley Academy,' launched in 2022. The Sarah Hurley Academy draws from Sarah's industry and business successes to help entrepreneurs and small businesses at all stages. The Academy provides education to small business, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs via a comprehensive range of courses and resources.

Working with The Gift of the Year Awards (organised by the Giftware Association) www.giftoftheyear.co.uk, The British Craft Directory (www.britishcraftdirectory.co.uk) and Small Business Collaborative (www.smallbusinesscollaborative.co.uk/), the show welcomes crafting for the first time. Local makers will bring their crafts and skills to life at the show with an area dedicated to showcasing up and coming designers and makers with a focus on craft. The Giftware Association will facilitate training with Therese Ørtenblad of Small Business Collaborative, so that participants gain the most benefit from taking part.

Speakers have started to be confirmed for CHSI Stitches 2023. Speakers making the line up so far include Safia Minney, MBE, internationally recognised founder of sustainable fashion brand, People Tree; and Andrew Davis, award-winning digital expert who has worked with some of the UK's biggest brands. The key annual trade event is now open for registration and attracts around 6,000 craft buyers looking for the latest products, new ideas and innovative suppliers. It brings together the creative craft industry for two days of education, networking, procurement and business opportunities.

Autumn might have brought a chill to the air but plans are hotting up for the next edition of Giving & Living. We're excited to report that specialists in coastal gifts and souvenirs are lining up to join the premier event for this key sector of the home and gift trade. Brand new for the 2023 show is family business DM Gould, one of the UK's largest importers and wholesale distributors of toys and plush, along with a huge selection of beach products. After the success of Craft Festival Cheltenham in March, the event returns for a special Christmas edition over the weekend of 26-27th November. More than 100 of the finest designer makers and artists from across the UK will exhibit at Cheltenham Town Hall for a celebration of making, creativity, and Christmas shopping. Craft Festival Cheltenham is a curated, selling event, selected by an independent panel of experts. This ensures that only the best British designer maker businesses are chosen to sell directly to the public.

Tourism in Scotland has begun to bounce back strongly with foreign visitors returning this summer, bringing much needed business to shops and attractions around Scotland. Following this successful summer season, Scotland's Trade Fair Autumn, provided a welcome chance to re-order, seek new products and network with suppliers.
The Show took place at the SEC in Glasgow from 17th-18th September. Having been brought forward by a day because of The Queen's funeral, the Show still attracted retailers keen to re-stock and re-order.

Four days, four destinations, 12 product sectors, thousands of retailers, hundreds of exhibitors showcasing millions of new and innovative products including homeware, décor, gifts, greetings and stationery, Christmas, beauty and wellbeing, womenswear, fashion accessories, jewellery and footwear, Autumn Fair 2022 ended on a high with a focus on collaboration, community, and conscious retailing. The inspirational show, which took place from 4th – 7th September at NEC Birmingham, offered the UK and Europe's retailers a space to meet, re-connect, network and source, as well as learn about sustainability, responsible sourcing, circularity, and advice for creating a buoyant future for retailing, all under one roof.

The British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) is delighted to announce that Toy Fair 2023 has sold out four months ahead of the show opening, with all exhibition spaces including the Greenhouse, now with waiting lists. The prestigious annual show, which is back for its 69th year, is taking place from the 24th-26th January 2023 at Olympia London. With 250 exhibiting companies in attendance, occupying the Grand and National halls on both levels, the toy industry is gearing up for one of the busiest shows to date!

As we head into the 'Golden Quarter' and retailers start gearing up for their Christmas merchandise displays, plans for the next edition of Giving & Living are well under way and a host of suppliers are lining up to join the premier Coastal sourcing event in the UK buying calendar. Running from 15th-17th January 2023 at Westpoint, Exeter, Giving & Living is a very important trade event for home and giftware in the south-west of Britain, covering more coastal regions than any other exhibition.
