Formed in 2004, Cygnet Yarns is a relatively new brand on the hand knitting scene. Our fledgling company has battled hard to become a recognised name in an industry that is dominated by large, well established brands.
Knitted Knockers UK, a registered charity in England & Wales which offers free of charge bespoke knitted and crocheted knockers to women who have had surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis, proudly announces its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of confidence boosting, sometimes lifechanging assistance to women in the UK. The Charity relies on donations to help it do that and is solely run by volunteers.

A firm fixture in the yarn shop calendar, UK Hand Knitting have launched this year's Yarnstravaganza which will run in independent yarn shops from 28th September till 5th October 2024. The nationwide campaign aims to encourage crafters to visit their local participating yarn shops or even visit stores further afield. This year the event again highlights the main benefits of yarn shops; all the support and expertise they offer, and as a place to get together, learn and have fun.

The Wool Shop in Ludlow has been a wool retailer for many years, with different management over time. Jean Brindley has been in charge for the past 18 years, and her daughter Claire Brindley has joined her in running the shop for the last 10 years. Located in the charming market town of Ludlow, the shop benefits from having minimal competition in the area. As a well established business, The Wool Shop has built up a solid reputation for its quality and range of products and boasts a loyal customer base in the local area as well as many returning customers from further afield. Claire's relocation and Jean's retirement have led to the reluctant decision to sell the business. With some recent shifts in our lives, we are optimistic that a new owner could enhance the business and guide it towards a successful future.
