Sam Ryder - Behind the sparkle

Crystal Parade has been lucky enough to work with some very talented fashion designers, dressmakers and costumiers, and in recent months working closely with stylist and GQ Style editor Luke Jefferson Day, helping out with some very special outfits... Last June for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Crystal Parade played a small part in dazzling the crowd outside Buckingham Palace. In collaboration with Luke and his design team, the company supplied the Preciosa and Zodiac crystals used to embellish the stunning Union Jack outfit worn by Sam Ryder for the Saturday night concert.

Mitsubishi Pencil UK Ltd appoints new MD

Mitsubishi Pencil EU (MPEU) has just announced the appointment of Neil Jardine as Managing Director of its UK office. Mitsubishi Pencil is the owner of well loved pen brands POSCA and uni-ball. Neil joins Mitsubishi Pencil UK after 25 years in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market, the bulk of which was as Director of Take Home at Greene King. Neil was also Sales Director at Sara Lee DE UK, and he masterminded the move by Disaronno to establish their own subsidiary in the UK (Disaronno UK Ltd).

RHS and Riley Blake Designs partner

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced a licensing agreement with US-based family-owned fabric manufacturer Riley Blake Designs to bring RHS-inspired cotton quilting and sewing fabric to a large number of online and physical outlets worldwide. The range includes multiple products, from quilting fabrics (both by-the-yard and in various sizes of pre-cut bundles) and ribbons, buttons and trims (all coordinated with the fabric collections) to quilting and sewing patterns and a number of DIY project kits such as quilt kits, table runner kits and pillow cover kits.

Frankfurt consumer goods fairs set international benchmark

Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld joined forces for the first time from February 3rd-4th to 7th, 2023, to inspire as the global hub for upcoming lifestyle trends. They reflect the increasing merging of lifestyles and focus on the top theme of sustainability. 4,561 exhibitors occupied the entire Frankfurt exhibition center on 352,950 gross square meters and impressed 154,000 retailers from all over the world with their innovations. Participants from more than 170 nations celebrated the personal encounter.

Just about a month before the Oscars in Hollywood, Creativeworld honours the most innovative new products with the Oscar of the hobby, craft and artists' supplies sector. The Creative Impulse Award was presented today on the opening day of the leading international trade fair.
