British Craft Trade Fair will open to public for one day: Image 1 The organisers of the British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF) have revealed a major new development for next year's show. From 2020, the leading trade event will be open to the public for one day. Show organiser Margeret Bunn announced the change on the first day of BCTF 2019 in April.

“In its 45-year history BCTF has been open solely to trade buyers, but next year we will open the doors for one day to the public, allowing consumers to buy directly from the designer-makers exhibiting here,” says Margeret. “This is a real celebration of all things British and handmade. Demand from the public for locally made, sustainable products is running at an all-time high and we want to do everything possible to help our exhibitors bring their crafts to market. BCTF is where people come to discover new and innovative products of the highest quality and they deserve to be seen by as wide an audience as possible.”

BCTF 2019 was a resounding success, with visitor numbers up by 24 per cent compared to 2018. Many exhibitors reported that trade was exceptional, with retailers lining up to place orders.

The 2020 opening days are Saturday 4th April (open to the public) and Sunday 5th until April 7th (trade only). The event will take place at The Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate. Go to www.bctf.co.uk for more information.
