Crafter's Companion has invested more than £120,000 in a new digital platform, as well as recruiting 13 employees to support its ongoing growth.
Following a sales increase of 38 per cent and an export sales jump of 58 per cent in 2018, the company has made a significant investment in its ecommerce, social media and creative production operations. The changes include a new global ecommerce team with four full-time staff and an apprentice, together with four new staff members to oversee the firm's social media operation. There's also three new faces running the company's TV-studio service and a photographer to support content and marketing requirements.
The new Magento 2.3 web platform, which includes redesigned consumer websites for the UK, US and EU will aid Crafter's Companion's growth strategy. The changes have enabled the team to increase its educational content online, with more step-by-step demonstration videos and live streaming features.
“We have seen phenomenal success throughout the past year and we wanted to invest in a new platform which reflects the direction we want to take as a global craft supplier,” says Sara Davies, company founder. “Our head office team has been working tirelessly to ensure that the move to the new website as been as seamless as possible and it has been fantastic to have some new recruits on board to help us. We have completely transformed our website into an even better platform for both customers and loyal crafters to enjoy and we are all extremely proud of the result.”
