BCTF partners with Platform Gallery: Image 1 The British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF) has announced that the Platform Gallery will be sponsoring a new prize at this year's show, the Platform & Function Award. This year's awards will be held on Monday 8th April at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate. The winner of the new award will be offered a three-month exhibition at the gallery, which is located in Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley.

“We are absolutely thrilled that The Platform Gallery is sponsoring one of our awards this year,” says Margeret Bunn, BCTF's organiser. “The Gallery is an amazing champion for the full spectrum of contemporary crafts and this will be a great prize for whoever is the lucky winner.”

“For 25 years the Platform's curators have come to the British Craft Trade fair and been inspired by the wealth of talent showcased in Harrogate,” adds Katherine Rodgers of Ribble Valley Borough Council. “As always this year we are looking to source makers who are producing new work that captures the joyfulness and exhilaration of British craft in all its forms. We recognise that BCTF has been working to promote and showcase the best of British and are excited to be able to offer a prize.”

Other award sponsors include Pyramid Gallery, Heart Gallery, ACID, The Giftware Association and The National Association of Jewellers.

The British Craft Trade Fair takes place from 7th-9th April at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate. For details, go to bctf.co.uk
