Etsy launches global design awards: Image 1 Online creative marketplace Etsy has announced the lunch of the Etsy Design Awards, a global competition that will recognise the work of sellers from around the world. Eligible entrants across multiple areas of expertise are invited to submit their application by 28th May, for a chance to win $15,000 USD and a bundle of marketing and business prizes.

The awards will be judged by a panel of internationally recognised tastemakers and entrepreneurs including interior designer Sophie Robinson, writer and actor Dan Levy, style expert Joe Zee, lifestyle writer and photographer Garance Doré, décor expert Holly Beciker, fashion designer Anavila Misra and Etsy's Dayna Isom Johnson. One entrant will be crowned the Etsy Design Award Grand Prize Winner and five others will be named as winners in each category. The results will be revealed in September 2019.

“Etsy is home to a diverse and colourful range of products, so it's exciting to be able to recognise the talent and craftsmanship behind each one. As a designer, I can relate to the importance of innovation and personal story behind a product, which is something The Etsies will showcase and look to reward.”

“I'm thrilled to be joining some of the best in the business as a judge for the first-ever Etsies, and I am even more excited to uncover some of the highest quality items on Etsy,” adds Dayna Isom Johnson, the platform's trend expert. “Our seller community is made up of some of the most talented and creative people in the world, and they deserve to be recognised. With so many beautiful items on Etsy, this definitely won't be an easy decision to make.”

The five categories are Inventive Décor, Signature Style, Festive Celebrations, Earth-Friendly and Creative Collaborations. For more information go to www.etsydesignawards.com
