Summer’s here and the time is right ... for crafting in the street! Well, maybe in the garden! Everyone at Craft Focus HQ is absolutely loving the warmer weather! Our ‘Endless Summer’ feature was a no-brainer. Warm colours, sunset prints and feel-good patterns – we’re soaking it all up before July comes and with it, the sound of sleigh bells.
Another trend feature you may have spotted is ‘Celestial Crafts’, for those who love stars, moons and a touch of astrology, this is for you! And, as a Sagittarius, it’s right up my street!
The Business Design Centre was buzzing for the London Stationery Show and it was great to see clients, old and new, London certainly was the place to be! Supporting young crafters and budding artists, we have our Children’s Crafts feature as well as our Back to School feature to assist their studies with a stellar offering of trendy and practical stationery supplies.
Our other jam-packed features include Crafts under £15 - for those giftworthy purchases, as well as haberdashery essentials in our ‘Ribbons & Buttons’ section and not forgetting all the latest industry news and trade show reports. Ruthin based craft supplier, Lavinia Stamps, has expanded exports to more than 60 countries and counting, as support from Business Wales generates a 12 per cent increase in sales through new exposure to international markets. Established in 1992, the craft supplier is best known for their signature polymer stamps, featuring original artwork from founder Tracy Dutton. Looking to safeguard and expand exports following the UK's exit from the EU, the team enlisted export experts from Business Wales for strategic guidance to build resilience and better navigate evolving international trade landscapes.
The story of Pébéo began in 1919 in beautiful Provence. Established in Saint-Marcel, east of Marseille, the factory was powered by the Canal du Béal, the driving force behind this young company of around 20 employees. The French chemical company was then known as 'La Pébéo', after the molecule used in the production of paint, lead protoxide, which was more commonly known as 'Pbo'. At that time, ready-made paints did not yet exist: pigments existed only in their powder form, and were only intended for use by professionals. In 1989 With the demand for exports increasing, Pébéo's laboratories became more and more cramped. The success of Pébéo's products around the world, and the resulting rate of production, forced the company to rethink its location.
