The Luxury Fabric Show introduces expert briefings at its October event

The Luxury Fabric Show, whose exhibitors are all British suppliers offering low minimums, is launching a series of expert briefings during its autumn event next month (14-15 October at The Box Office Studio in Shoreditch, London). The exhibition presents a tightly curated collection of the best suppliers of silk, wool, lace, jacquards, linings, buttons, labels, workshop essentials and more aimed at the fashion, bridalwear, lingerie, interiors and costume making sectors.

Beige fabric and green buttons Courtney and CoThe one-hour sessions will cover fabrics and trimmings, the role of fabric in garment production and innovation through embroidery, with a focus on both fashion and costume. "We hope these sessions will provide fabric retailers with useful information that they can pass onto their customers – be they trade or consumers," says the show's organiser and co-founder Linda Laderman.

Among the exhibitors are Marvic Fabrics, Heritage Weavers, Bridal Fabrics, Laurent Garigue, Bennett Silks, Henry Bertrand, Pongees, Courtney & Co, Jones Buttons, The National Weaving Company and Bernstein & Banleys.

The show is open 10am to 5pm both days; entry tickets are free, available here.
*Briefing sessions: These free, informal, events, will take place at:
3pm on the opening day Wednesday 14 October (with a fashion focus)
9am and 11am on Thursday 15 October (the former with a costume focus).
External speakers include representatives from The London Embroidery Studio and Plus Samples.
