Since its launch, Bangoberry has been capturing hearts with its cheerful cast of collectible characters across a colourful product range inspired by life on the tropical ‘Bingo Bango’ Island. Perfectly positioned within the booming Kidult and cute kawaii trend, Bangoberry delivers a highly giftable collection of novelty stationery, character accessories and everyday products with instant shelf appeal. Building on another major retail trend for charm-based customisation, Bangoberry adds a collectible twist to the personalisation trend, with its ‘Bangobob’ charms – each carrying its own secret meaning for fans to discover, trade and collect. The partnership with Inside Out Toys comes after SANTORO’s recent US partnership with Toysmith and also marks an important step in the brand’s UK growth. The new collaboration will make Bangoberry more readily available to the distributor’s large customer base that spans independent gift shops, toy retailers, garden centres, museums, zoos, and visitor attractions nationwide. “Bangoberry is a bright and characterful range that fits perfectly with the types of retailers we work with,” said Julian Garner, Managing Director at Inside Out Toys. “The playful design, tactile materials and strong pocket-money products make it an easy addition for gift retailers, particularly those serving families and children. We’re excited to introduce the brand to our customers and believe it will quickly become a popular impulse range in-store.” Tara Strickland, Head of Design at SANTORO, also added that, “We’re delighted to be bringing additional momentum to Bangoberry in the UK with Inside Out Toys! The brand has such distinctively playful spirit and it has been incredibly exciting to see it grow in popularity across other territories. We believe it has all the right ingredients to capture the imagination of UK customers too, and we can’t wait to see more families discover the fun!” Retailers attending this year’s Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival in Harrogate will also have the opportunity to discover Bangoberry in person. While SANTORO will not be exhibiting at the event, the full range will be showcased by Inside Out Toys, allowing visitors to explore the collection and discuss stocking opportunities directly with the team. Bangoberry stock is now available through Inside Out Toys, with display-led starter packages available to help retailers launch the range successfully in-store. Renowned British textile artist Claire Wellesley-Smith demonstrates how these two fundamental concepts are linked – we experience time through place, and vice versa – and make endlessly rewarding themes for textile art. Practical ideas for incorporating time and place into your work include: • Taking the time: how to observe mindfulness and care in choosing materials, and how to stitch with intention to create a more meaningful piece of work. • Textile temporalities: observing time passing through stitch, through daily embroidery journals and recording aspects of life, either environmental or personal, over certain durations of time. • Gathering together: Using textile art within the wider community to record memories, share ideas and create a sense of togetherness. • Geographies of making: creating site-specific embroidery pieces, for display or otherwise, that are tied to a specific place and time. • Stitching connection: ideas for collaborating with other artists in group projects that are passed back and forth between the participants over time sales@batsfordbooks.com www.batsfordbooks.com SANTORO LONDON Get hooked on creativity with the Gorjuss Grey Cat Crochet Kit, a charming craft project that brings a little handmade magic to every stitch. 23 AUTUMN FAIR 2026 Autumn Fair As the retail landscape continues to evolve, Autumn Fair is adapting with it, inspiring creativity, discovery and smarter buying Returning to the NEC Birmingham from 6th to 9th September 2026, the UK’s definitive marketplace for Home, Gift, and Fashion is delivering a buying experience designed around how retailers shop today: more flexibly, more reactively and with a greater emphasis on originality, storytelling and community. For craft retailers in particular, this year’s event promises an abundance of creativity, from traditional paper crafts and knitting to sustainable toy-making, children’s craft kits and imaginative products that encourage hands-on creativity and screen-free play. Adding even greater scale, Glee will co-locate with Autumn Fair on 8th to 9th September, creating Europe’s biggest buying event for home, gift, garden and fashion retail, bringing together more than 1,250 exhibitors, 500,000 products and over 20,000 buyers under one roof. BUYING FOR THE GOLDEN QUARTER AND BEYOND The Golden Quarter remains the most important trading period in the retail calendar, and independent retailers are increasingly seeking agile buying opportunities that allow them to react to trends and top up on proven sellers without overcommitting too far in advance. From Christmas crafting and gifting through to Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter, Autumn Fair provides buyers with the flexibility they need. With more than 25 percent of brands new to the show and over 30 percent exhibiting exclusively at Autumn Fair, visitors can expect a strong blend of trusted suppliers and exciting new discoveries across every category. 2026
24 CRAFTING A CREATIVE SHOWCASE The craft and creative play offering is particularly strong this year, with established brands and innovative newcomers bringing fresh ideas to retailers seeking products that inspire making, creating and imaginative play. Celebrating an incredible 90 years in business, King Cole returns with its renowned collection of knitting yarns, patterns and accessories. Still family-owned and proudly rooted in Yorkshire, the company continues to innovate while honouring its rich heritage in British hand knitting. Offering everything from pure wool to acrylic blends, King Cole remains one of the world’s most recognised knitting brands and an essential destination for haberdashery and craft retailers. Paper crafters and makers will also find inspiration from Craft UK/Cummins & Papyrus Ltd, manufacturer of envelopes and craft paper products. The family-run Yorkshire business produces an extensive range of UK-made card blanks, textured boards, aperture cards and bespoke envelope solutions, supporting both hobby crafters and small creative businesses. Children’s creativity is another key theme across the show. Brainstorm Ltd will showcase its hugely successful EUGY collection, eco-friendly 3D animal models that combine crafting with collectability, as well as Puffy Art, an innovative new range that transforms children’s colouring creations into threedimensional artwork using water. Meanwhile, Inside Out Toys is introducing Box CanDIY, a beautifully presented range of all-in-one activity kits that include everything from jewellery making and sand art to crochet pets and scratch lanterns. New Mini Boxes, presented in countertop displays, offer accessible price points and strong impulsepurchase opportunities for retailers. Fast-moving toys, crafts and impulse purchases continue to be a strong opportunity for retailers, and both Puckator and Padgett Bros will bring extensive ranges designed to maximise creativity and commercial appeal. Puckator’s ever-evolving toy collection includes trend-led sensory toys, fidget products, novelty gadgets and giftable impulse lines, with standout collections including its popular Queasy range, educational cardboard games and a new DIY line that combines hands-on creativity with strong retail performance. Padgett Bros, one of the UK’s leading importers and distributors of toys, nursery products and arts and crafts, will showcase more than 2,000 products, including its popular Paint Your Own craft sets. European distributor BTL Diffusion is launching two exciting brands into the UK market: Souza, a whimsical collection of costumes and accessories designed to encourage imaginative play, and Sycomore, a vibrant arts and crafts range aimed at both children and adults, promoting creativity and hands-on learning. The growing crossover between books, creativity and imaginative play is reflected by Tawny Owl Wood Children’s Books, whose beautifully illustrated titles celebrate diversity, neurodiversity and the natural world. Their new collaboration with Selfie Craft Co, the Colouring-In Cape, allows children to create their own wearable artwork, blending crafting with role play and storytelling. SMART PLAY MEETS CREATIVE LEARNING Educational and STEM products continue to thrive, and Autumn Fair’s exhibitors are responding with ranges that combine creativity, learning and fun. Smart Toys & Games returns with its award-winning portfolio, including SmartGames logic puzzles, SmartMax magnetic construction systems, GeoSmart STEM building kits and Smartivity’s sustainable wooden DIY construction sets. These products combine problem-solving, engineering and imaginative play, meeting growing consumer demand for House of Marbles Selfie Craft Co
