Quilt-your-own kits We now print our designs onto 100 percent cotton fabric for creating quilted games boards or including into larger quilting projects. Fabric games boards We also print our games board designs onto 100 percent cotton canvas for creating fabric games boards which can then be embellished. My favourite will always be snakes & ladders as this is what started our journey but I also love the Blackwork Animal Collection. Hobby & crafts have boomed over the last two years! Have you noticed any new trends? As people become more cost conscious about cost of living they are spending more time at home and therefore focused on enjoyable cost-effective time-consuming hobbies to enjoy How would you advise a retailer who is interested in stocking your products? We’ll be offering our ‘chart only’ kits which include the chart, key and full instructions for creating the design. The kits will also include a discount code if the customer wants to order the fabric and threads on our website. We’ve noticed that over the last couple of years our customers order more ‘chart only’ kits and then get the materials when they are ready to start stitching. Our thread packs include enough thread for the design being stitched and this keeps the costs down. Most avid stitchers have a stash of materials at home so there’s also the ability to just buy any threads that they do not have in their stash. We have more than 200 designs in our catalogue and we print all our kits ourselves which means we can turnaround orders quickly. What sets you apart from your competitors? As far as we know there are no other designers creating stitched games boards at this time. We also have a range of themed games boards for both chess and backgammon, for example we have botanic, Celtic and dragon themes amongst others. We approach our designing from an artist’s perspective, so they’re more realistic than others. Do you visit any trade shows? Do you plan to visit any soon? We’re researching what to do about this for 2027. What are you looking forward to most over the next year? This year we dipped our toes into the Board Games Expo at the NEC in Birmingham which went much better than we had thought it might, so we’re hoping to look at doing more in this area. Our daughter is also looking at designing a range of kits and I’m really looking forward to working with her on this. I’m also looking forward to working with customers on their exciting Photo-2Needle projects. What new products can we expect from you in the future? There will be more games boards, more blackwork animals, a bit more of everything!
