45 COMPANY PROFILE SCHIFFER PUBLISHING https://www.schiffercraft.com https://www.betterdaybooks.com a sustainable technique that’s gaining popularity worldwide. I have spoken to the authors and I can guarantee they are passionate and true experts in the field. The projects are gorgeous; a friend of mine is going to use it as reference and resource for her wedding dress. This is beautiful when things like this happens. The second title is Botanical Cyanotype: A Guide to the Art of Sun Printing. All projects in the book are beautiful and easy to recreate. The Schiffer Craft team even organised a company workshop to introduce the concept, during which everyone created their own compositions, which was a fun experience, especially for those who are less crafty. I’ve yet to try it myself, but with spring arriving, it will be the perfect time to collect flowers, leaves, and other natural materials to experiment and I will send you my piece. Also publishing in spring 2026 is Paper Flower Magic. This is the first book that makes me want to start crafting flowers myself, because the instructions are clear and easy to follow (which is not always the case), the materials are cheap and above all the finished flowers look real, which is quite rare. From the Better Day Books list, I’m especially looking forward to the publication of the Fantasy World Coloring Book as like its companion, Fairy Tales and Folklore Coloring Book, it will bring a bit of magic into our daily lives. Hobby & crafts have boomed over the last two years! Have you noticed any new trends? There are so many colouring books around, but they have remained a steady and enduring trend, and I believe they’ll continue to be popular for many years. However, readers now expect colouring books to offer more - high-quality materials and innovative concepts - so we make sure to stay in tune with the market. Kits are also very popular, whether for sewing or painting. Customers are willing to pay a premium if the items included are of high quality, such as 100 percent cotton fabrics or professional-grade paints. Last but not least, kids’ activity books, especially those focused on drawing, are on the rise across all international markets. They offer a creative way to engage children and encourage them to spend time away from screens. All parents are congruent. How would you advise a retailer who is interested in stocking your products? The content of our books is rich, informative, visually engaging, and aspirational, ensuring they offer excellent value for money. What sets you apart from your competitors? We stay in tune with the market through close collaboration with retailers, and the structure of our company allows us to be highly agile, with every department involved. We’re a close team. We’ve chosen to prioritise quality over low price, wanting to offer a memorable experience with every book we produce and the customers value so. Do you visit any trade shows? Do you plan to visit any soon? We exhibit at major book fairs such as the London and Frankfurt Book Fairs, and we also attend various craft shows in London and Birmingham. What are you looking forward to most over the next year? The creativity of the craft world is constantly evolving, and visiting shows is reassuring—it shows that craft publishing will continue to thrive for many years to come. What new products can we expect from you in the future? Nature will be at the centre stage and will feature in many of our projects. So of course, be prepared to discover new colouring books which we will link to nature. Books on wood, whether from Japan or the Western World, gorgeous embroidery titles featuring botanicals, adventure in nature with bushcrafting and the most exciting for me will be our books on felt linked to the seasons. We’ll also continue publishing in the Kawaii / cozy area in a variety of subjects and formats as I believe we’re only at the beginning of the trend. Our craft kits have also proved to be very popular due to a good quality sourcing and we’re planning many more.
