Since stepping into her leadership role, Gemma has been a driving force behind The GA’s mission to elevate the UK’s vibrant gift and home sector. Her background in retail, merchandising, supply chain management, and strategic development which spans over 15 years with major household brands continues to inform the Association’s forwardthinking direction and membercentric approach. Gemma’s passion for empowering businesses, supporting entrepreneurs, and enhancing the visibility of the giftware industry has made her an influential voice within the trade association community. Her inclusion on the WiTA Powerlist recognises not only her professional achievements but also her commitment to fostering collaboration and sector wide growth. “We’re absolutely thrilled to see Gemma recognised among the incredible women driving change in our sector,” said the team at The GA. “Her leadership and vision really showcase her drive and passion for the industry and we couldn’t be more proud of Gemma to have been named on this list.” ACID AND THE GIFTWARE ASSOCIATION JOIN FORCES TO POWER UP IP PROTECTION ACID is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Giftware Association (GA) to bolster support for this key UK creative industry and unite to influence positive change for designers. With design theft still a significant issue affecting creators, the GA’s collaboration with ACID brings a compelling new layer of support at a time when safeguarding creative originality has never been more essential. This partnership aims to: equip GA members with enhanced tools through accessing ACID membership at a discounted rate to protect their IP, including access to ACID’s respected IP resources, advice services, and the ACID IP databank. Secondly, to promote ethical trading practices across the gift, home, and lifestyle sectors by encouraging the adoption of the ACID IP charter, an industry-wide pledge to uphold respect for original design and responsible use of creative content. Finally, to advocate for designers’ rights through joint campaigning, events, and educational initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of IP protection.
