Tell us about how the company began PlastiKote first came to the market in 1923 as an innovative clear coat product removing the need for wax on linoleum. That sense of innovation continued and in the early ’90s PlastiKote spray paints were launched in the UK and Ireland, primarily for the DIY and craft sectors. PlastiKote was the first consumer spray paint brand and it was with some excitement that crafters and DIYers used its products for the first time. PlastiKote spray paint was loved for its simplicity, convenience, speed, versatility and lack of waste. Nearly 25 years later, those qualities are just as important but now PlastiKote is renowned for so much more! Only recently we launched two exciting new products, Chalk – a chalky, matt finish paint, and Leaf – a precious metal effect finish. We’re currently working on the launch of Garden – a new outdoor paint in a range of fabulous colours. PlastiKote offers an incredible 27 different product ranges for the hobby and craft sector – our wide spectrum of colours, finishes and effects make just about any creative project extra special. Products include Metallics, Glitters, Twist & Spray, Chalkboard, Glass Frosting, Sealers, Primers, Stone Effect, Crackle Effect, Metal Hammer Effect, Fluorescent, Glow in the Dark, Rust Effect and Fast Dry Enamel.
