Edding's EcoLine awarded prestigious ecolabel: Image 1 Edding has been awarded with a Blue Angel ecolabel for its environmentally-friendly 24 EcoLine highlighter. The prestigious award has never been given to a marker pen before, due to its strict environmental criteria.

The Blue Angel ecolabel has been supported by the German government for 40 years, and is designed to make it easier for consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. Anyone using products or services bearing the label can be sure they are acting in an environmentally-friendly, sustainable manner. To be considered, products must meet a number of rigorous checks.

The jury was impressed by the highlighter's eco-friendly properties. The pen's cap and barrel are made from a minimum of 90 per cent renewable resources, while the neck piece and filter fibres are formed from 97 per cent recycled material. The marker is refillable and is sold in recycled cardboard packaging. There are five brilliant neon colours available, and it will work on virtually all paper surfaces.

The highlighter is from the EcoLine series, which also includes permanent, whiteboard and flipchart markers manufactured predominantly from recycled materials. “We are absolutely delighted that our highlighter has been awarded this top class label, and we hope that, through this product, we can play a part in preserving resources,” says Per Ledermann, Chairman of the Management Board at edding AG.
