Craft Focus - October/November 2022 (Issue 93)

HERITAGE CRAFTS Heritage Crafts is pleased to introduce new tapestry designs. For some time, the company has been working with its artists and converters to produce a lovely range of tapestries. Some of these are brand new, others are taken from existing cross stitch designs. From Karen Carter there’s the first two of an exciting new range in Karen’s distinctive style. These are Black Cat and Fox, both in striking colours and a pleasure to stitch. From John Clayton there are two of his William Christmas designs, featuring the popular bear, William, and his friends. These are based on cross stitch designs, but they have converted into tapestry very well. Furthermore, Black Cat has also been made into a cushion, which looks striking on a sofa, but, like all these designs, it could be used as a picture. These new tapestries are available as kits which contain printed Zweigart canvas, Anchor wools, full instructions, a large, coloured picture of the design, and, of course, a tapestry needle. They’re worked on 10 count tapestry canvas and each measures 14in x 14in (35cm x 35 cm). The RRP is £69.95. HAWTHORN HANDMADE Make Your Own Magic is part of a stunning new range of word-based embroideries from Hawthorn Handmade. The design is printed in full colour allowing you to follow the outlines or go all in and fill in the pattern. Give the finished hoop as a cherished gift or hang where it will inspire you every day. The Today I Choose Joy Embroidery Kit is the second in the range, (RRP £22.95). ZWEIGART Winter is the perfect time for needlework!
