GOTS certified baby alpaca yarn is still a very rare and precious fibre. The reason being, alpacas are normally raised on very small farms in the mountains in Peru. Only very few farms are big enough to be able to afford a GOTS certification process. The company’s supplying mill has now helped some farms to get the certification and been able to secure the majority of the first harvested GOTS baby alpaca wool. Due to the fact that up till now there are no GOTS certified dye houses near Selected Yarn’s mill, it is offering three undyed versions. The yarn looks like a mohair/ silk composition, but is even softer as some people are sensitive to mohair. kremke@selected-yarns.com www.selected-yarns.com KING COLE Homespun DK is a standard spun yarn with neps that gives extra texture and interest. This beautiful fibre blend includes merino and alpaca making this yarn ideal for all autumn knit projects. Balled as doughnut, this gives an additional elegance to this yarn. There are 10 pattern leaflets which include men’s and women’s garments, fashion accessories and homeware. +44 (0)1756 703 670 www.kingcole.com 64
