7 EDITOR’S LETTER On the cover This weaving loom kit from Hawthorn Handmade comes with all the materials needed to create a beautiful woven wall hanging, tapestry or woven jewellery. Choose whether to add one of Hawthorn’s pop-up weaving looms to create a complete weaving kit ideal for beginners, or if you’ve already got the loom, just go for the weaving kit without the loom. You can mix this pack with your own stash of yarn, thread and wool, or with another weaving kit! So on trend and can be suitable for so many interiors, depending on your choice of colours – from a baby’s nursery to your lounge. Check out the website for further information: www.hawthornhandmade.com Carry on crafting The world we live in has turned upside-down of recent months. Nevertheless, it’s been amazing to see how the crafting community has remained strong: helping one another, staying connected and supporting the industry. Many of you will be pleased with the announcement that all non-essential retailers will be able to reopen in England from 15 th June as part of plans to further ease the lockdown. We do hope that over the past weeks, even though your brick and mortar stores have been closed, those with online shops have experienced a surge in sales as people staying home turn to craft for tranquillity, peace and, well to fulfil boredom! I’ve certainly been entertaining the kids with many craft projects – one favourite being this issue’s tried and tested, supplied by Hunkydory Crafts. The Button It! Pad was a huge hit. This edition has a focus on children’s crafts, fabrics, sewing for the home and crafts for less than £15. We also catch up with many companies including Jim Nicol from TheMagicTouch, Katie Stephenson from Cygnet Yarns and Lisa Miles from Photocentric. Photocentric has been proactive in making face shields for the NHS, so make sure you read all about the company’s fantastic journey. As we continue to live in uncertain and unpredictable times all that’s left to say is, stay safe, keep crafting and we’ll all see each other soon!
