30 Stitchtopia launches its f irst Tour of India supported by KnitPr o Stitchtopia Craft Holidays has announced an exciting new holiday for knitters and crocheters to India with support from KnitPro. Starting on 1 st February, 2021, this amazing holiday takes in the sites of the Golden Triangle visiting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Stitchtopia has worked closely with KnitPro to create a memorable tour highlighting just some of the magic this part of India has to offer. The year 2020 is the 50 th anniversary of this prestigious competition, which celebrates excellence in British architecture and product design using wood. Anyone involved in a UK-based wood project is invited to enter and has until 22 nd May to submit their applications. There’s no entry fee and entrants may submit more than one project. Established in 1971, the Wood Awards recognises, encourages and promotes outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation throughout the UK. The Wood Awards’ elite independent judging panel not only judges all submitted entries but also visits the shortlisted projects in person, making the Wood Awards a uniquely rigorous competition. With permission from the owner, anyone associated with a building or product completed in the last two years, can enter. Buildings must be located within the UK whilst furniture and other products must have been either designed or manufactured in the UK. Fitted furniture must be in the UK. There are no restrictions on the size or budget of a project. Entries must be submitted vi a woodawards.com. The Wood Awards shortlist will be announced in July and the winners will be announced a ceremony held on 25 th November at Carpenters’ Hall in London. The shortlisted projects will be on display at the ceremony and during the London Design Festival in September. For further information visi t: woodawards.com LONDON STATIONERY SHOW ANNOUNCES NEW DATE Due to the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and current government advice, Ocean Media Group has confirmed its decision to postpone London Stationery Show which was due to take place in April. The new date is 11th September, 2020 and the show will still take place at its usual venue, the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. All existing registrations will remain in place for the rescheduled date and pre-registration will stay open to enable visitors to register for fast-track entry on arrival at the event. Event Director, Alex Butler commented “Whilst we would have loved for the show to take place next month, at this present time our number one priority is the health and well- being of our visitors, exhibitors, staff and their families. We’re very sad to have to postpone but in light of the current pandemic and clear government guidelines re-scheduling is the best course of action.” This one-day show format will be for 2020 only, and the 2021 edition of London Stationery Show will run as usual over two days.
