The 2020 event will include more than 100 hours of free education and a keynote seminar revealing the results of the latest Craft Report, an independent study looking at the buying motivators and habits of the crafting public. Visitors can also attend free, trade-only workshop sessions focusing on new techniques and using product knowledge to boost sales. Featuring garments created from the latest fabrics, yarns and haberdashery, the show’s popular catwalk will provide extra inspiration for visitors, while the rebranded Trending Now area will showcase up-and- coming designs and cutting-edge products from across the world. “CHSI Stitches is the meeting place for the craft industry,” says Simon Burns, managing director of the show’s organiser, ICHF Events. “The 2020 show offers independent retailers the chance to test, touch and experience the latest craft products, take part in free seminars and workshops and get vital industry insight. CHSI Stitches brings together more than 6,000 craft buyers and innovative suppliers from across the world. It is a celebration of our industry and we are looking forward to our 42 nd year of Stitches in February.” The show takes place from 16 th -18 th February at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information, go to www.chsi.co.uk Scotland’s Trade Fair gears up for spring Retailers from the north of the UK will be flocking to Glasgow from 19 th -21 st January for the latest edition of Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring. The show’s upmarket Craft Gallery will house Scottish talent from bespoke producers including Clarabella Christie, Tessuti, Alison Haddon Jewellery, Olive Pearson Designs, Helen Ruth Scarves, Carla Edwards Jewellery, BAKKA, Green Thomas and Lynsey Walters Jewellery. There’s also a launch gallery, where new producers will be on hand to inspire buyers. Exhibitors will include Bottlecollars, Honey Darling Candles, Jenna Macdonald Jewellery and Marc Peters Glass. Added extras will include the Talking Shop zone, with discussions and workshops on subjects as diverse as retail trends, using social media and attracting tourists. Nessie’s Den will also return for its second year. “Craft producers in Scotland never cease to amaze us with their talented creativity and next year’s show is no exception,” says Mark Saunders, the show’s director. “Scotland’s Trade Fair is the place where new products are unveiled and launched to the market, where orders are placed and relationships made, where interesting market insight and selling techniques are imparted, and where shops are inspired about what to stock for the coming year.” The show takes place at SEC, Glasgow.
