106 REASONS TO STOCK • Ideal as a gift • Space-saving design • A great impulse purchase THE PRODUCT Textile Heritage produces cross stitch kits in a variety of forms, including bookmarks, coasters, fridge magnets and keepsakes. Each project comes with threads, fabric, a needle and full instructions, with thoughtful finishing details. Designs include florals, birds, animals, Celtic and Medieval images, with starter packs available in a clear presentation box. The company can also provide display boards to help promote stock within store. HOW TO USE IT As a self-confessed bibliophile, I can never have too many bookmarks, so I was keen to get my hands on this pretty poppy design. The set contained everything I needed to get started, including simple instructions. After ensuring the fabric was the right way up, I measured 3cm from the bottom edge and began to sew. The directions come with a chart and stitch guide, which advises taping a small length of thread next to each colour name for reference. The chart was easy to follow, with a general instruction section showing how to tackle the stitches required. The kit is ideal for less experienced crafters, and it won’t take up much room in store. With a retail price of £8.50 it makes a great impulse purchase, with attractive packaging that really stands out on the shelf. It was great fun to stitch and I’ll be getting to another kit in the Textile Heritage family very soon!
