18 LAINE PUBLISHING Laine Publishing’s latest book, The Art of the Sea: 23 Knitwear Designs Inspired by the Moomins, interprets the beloved Moomin characters in a new and fascinating way — by turning them into contemporary knitwear! The book features knitting patterns by 18 talented designers from around the world. For 80 years, the Moomins have enchanted readers with their honesty, mischief and warmth. Their creator, the Finnish artist and writer Tove Jansson, is one of the most beloved figures in Nordic literature and art. This special Laine publication is inspired not only by the Moomins but also by Jansson’s artistry and distinctive way of life. One essential feature of the book is also the sea: an element that flows through much of Jansson’s work. The photoshoot took place at the historic fortress island of Örö in the Archipelago Sea, and the stunning knitwear photos were taken by the photographer Riikka Kantinkoski and Jonna Helin, Laine’s founder and creative director. hello@lainepublishing.com https://lainepublishing.com ZWEIGART This new Coffee print (3239) on Zweigart’s Belfast linen item is particularly beautiful.
