72 Click, Craft, Create Rosie Wragg, Owner of Rosie’s Craft Shop, tells us all about how she runs her e-commerce shop Tell us a bit about Rosie’s Craft Shop Rosie’s Craft Shop is a family run UK online craft shop. We have a wide range of fabrics, haberdashery, vinyl, bow making and sewing supplies and are stockists of Liberty London fabrics, Teckwrap and Sizzix. When did your e-commerce shop open and what was the reason for opening online? We opened this website back in 2015 after running our business via eBay and Etsy and on our social media channels to make ordering an easier and smoother process for customers. Would you ever open a bricks and mortar store? We often think about opening a bricks and mortar store and at one point it was the plan! Then Covid happened and we saw the impact that has on businesses around us and in our industry and some sadly closing and it made us rethink the plan. We’ve seen the way that has driven up online shopping and ordering we also know some small businesses who have bricks and motor stores who are struggling with increased business rates and costings so its not a route we’re looking to explore as of now. We’ve custom-built studios where we are and Studio 3 has now given us 1000sq ft of floor space to fill! This allows us to keep our overheads much lower and pass those savings on to customers. How do you promote your shop and reach new customers? We’re very lucky to have a high number of repeat customers and we do get a lot of new customers from word of mouth too. We have social media channels and we also have a mailing list. Have you seen a boom in the craft industry recently/ a new type of customer? The crafting world is growing! We’re seeing more and more people getting into various crafts and hobbies and especially the personalised side of crafting. We have some fabulously talented customers who are adding vinyl to almost everything! People see a TikTok or a Pinterest post and want to make it themselves and off they go searching for the supplies! Tell us a bit about what you stock? We stock a wide range of quality 100 percent quilting cottons from some of the leading fabric designers. We stock multiple types of self-adhesive vinyl and heat transfer vinyl in all types of finishes and textures and application tools. We also stock a range of haberdashery, ribbons and sewing supplies so a customer can get everything they need to get started all in one place. Our bow making supplies range is always very popular with a range of chunky glitter fabrics, fabric felts, bow making dies and templates. What brands do you currently stock? We currently stock a number of brands including Liberty London, Robert Kaufman, Dashwood Studios, Michael Miller, Blend, Riley Blake, Sizzix, Teckwrap Craft, Hi Tack to name a few! Are you looking for any new products or styles? We’re always on the lookout for new products and styles and like to keep up with the current trends and what the hot craft of the minute is.
