Craft Focus - June/July 2025 (Issue 109)

72 Meet up & make Michelle Last, owner of The Ark in Felixstowe, talks to Craft Focus about expanding her retail business Tell us a bit about Crafty Lasty Yarn I originally started Crafty Lasty Yarn as I couldn’t find yarn locally at a sensible price so thought there must be others in the same situation. In July last year, I expanded and created ‘The Ark’, this has been my goal for the last five years. I’ve been trying to find a space that I can combine several of my interests and ideas within the same space - and here it is! Tell us a bit about what you stock? We offer food and drink, pottery painting, local crafters shelves selling handmade items, clothing, yarn and macrame cords, gifts and much more. We also host many craft workshops and weekly community groups. One of the brands I love working with is Cygnet Yarns, just a wonderful company with a huge choice of yarns. What’s special about your location? Located on Sea Road, Felixstowe, I have the most amazing views overlooking the sea from every window - and my own balcony too.
