Visitors to CHSI Stitches 2016 will be treated to something a little different as a Narnia-inspired yarn display, 'Yarnia' is unveiled for the first time. After making its debut at Stitches, the display will tour the UK at ICHF Events consumer shows.
The stunning display, commissioned by Readicut, features 21 pieces made from yarn. Well-known characters from the epic tale by C.S. Lewis have been reborn using a variety of fabrics and techniques including crochet, appliqué, felt and hand-knitting. Visitors will be treated to a beautifully crafted scene of lead characters Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund at the recreation of a train station complete with suitcases, lamp post and, of course, 'the wardrobe' as well as other central figures. Stephen McCalllister, Sales Director of Readicut who commissioned Yarnia said: “Yarnia is certain to give visitors a real thrill. We know craft is all about imagination and our stand is certain to bring a touch of magic to the exhibition where we are planning to take visitors to another world with a whole range of yarn inspirations with world class brands such as Bernat®, Caron® and Lily Sugar n Cream®. We look forward to meeting people and showing them the extraordinary ways you can use our yarns.”
CHSI Stitches organiser, ICHF Events, is welcoming back some major players in the industry for the 2016 show. Among them is Coats Crafts UK who will be exhibiting at the show, bringing a vibrant and engaging stand. Anna Mitchell, newly appointed Managing Director Coats Crafts UK: “We're really excited to be exhibiting at CHSI Stitches 2016 and showcasing our latest designer collaborations in both hand-knit and fabric. The autumn/winter season has been a busy one for Coats Crafts UK with design lines including: Arne & Carlos, Zandra Rhodes, Swarovski and a celebration of Kaffe Fassett's 50 years in textiles. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand K14.”
Adam Elkins, sales and new business for ICHF Events said: “We're delighted to welcome back Coats Crafts UK, as well as a host of other inspiring exhibitors all of whom will play a key part on putting on the spectacular show that visitors have come to expect. Alongside a range of inspiring features including the Yarnia feature, 2016 promises to be an excellent year for the show.”
Many companies have expanded their stands for 2016 including Oddies Textiles, Designer Yarns and Intercontinental Yarns, Solocrafts and Via Nova International. Jan Noort, Sales Director at Via Nova International said: “We started about seven years ago as the distributor for RJR in the UK. We came to Stitches to enable retailers to meet the people behind the business and to enable salespeople to meet with customers on the stand. Last year we started selling a new range of RJR Fabrics called Cotton + Steel – these are more modern and retro designs which have been received very well, especially in the UK.”
Pre-registration is now open. All trade visitors registered in advance of the show are entered into a prize draw held each day of the show to win £1000 to spend on supplies with exhibitors at or after the show.
