London's oldest art supplier and quality framer relocates to Store Street Bloomsbury. Russell and Chapple and Store Street Framing move to new Bloomsbury home - Store Street.
Bloomsbury is delighted to welcome its newest arrivals – Russell and Chapple and Store Street Framing, which join the street's array of independent stores, cafés and much-loved restaurants.
London's oldest art and textile supplier, Russell and Chapple, originally opened in Covent Garden more than 200 years ago and has now re-located to 30-31 Store Street. Its sister company, Store Street Framing, will be operating its quality, hand-finished framing service from within the shop.
Since launching in 1770 Russell and Chapple has provided drapes and curtains to Covent Garden theatres, including the Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Theatre Group. The store is renowned for its high quality canvases including fine artists' linen and cotton, scenic, digital and soft furnishing fabrics, all sourced from around the world. Customers will also find a host of art and theatrical supplies, such as brushes, stage make-up, fabrics and paints.
Formally Arch One Picture Framing, Store Street Framing provides a range of beautifully finished frames created using century-old techniques, all made-to-order from within its London workshop. As with all of Store Street's specialist retailers, Russell and Chapple and Store Street Framing's friendly and knowledgeable staff and craftsmen are experts in their field to provide a professional service.
Nicholas Walt, Owner of Russell and Chapple, commented, “We're very excited to be joining the community of independent shops and cafés that make Store Street such a special place to visit. This will be our first move from Covent Garden, but because Bloomsbury is renowned for its rich history of arts and culture, it feels a natural move and the perfect place for us to be.”
Founder of Store Street Framing, Andrew Butwright, commented, “We've always aimed to provide a service for our clients that few could match, from art buyers to galleries and collectors. We're really excited about the move to Store Street, especially as we'll now be joining artistic forces with Russell and Chapple to provide a 360 degree service.”
