CHA UK is delighted to welcome three new members onto the CHA-UK board. Diane Pinchbeck, Paul Giddens and Stuart Caller were elected by the CHA-UK nominating committee, and endorsed by the board and its members at the recent CHA-UK AGM in February.
Going forward the board is made up of the following:
Tony Sheridan, MD at Create Retail is Board Chair.
Derek Bamford, MD at Grafton Projects continues his role as Vice Chair.
Sara Davies, Founder of Crafter's Companion has accepted the position of Secretary/ Treasurer.
“Serving on the board will give me the opportunity to represent others who are thinking about setting up their own craft business. Running a small or micro craft business has its own set of one-of-a-kind problems. The CHA-UK is there to help and educate business owners so their businesses can thrive and grow. It's important that we let these business owners know that the CHA-UK not only exists but that we can offer much needed support, business advice and all important social networking,” says Diane Pinchbeck, owner at Diane Rooney Designs.
Paul Giddens - owner of Premium Arts Brands Ltd - has a passion for the UK creative market and believes that the next few years will be very exciting in terms of significant growth, innovation and opportunities. “I've been involved in the Arts and Crafts market for more than 30 years and have gained a high level of business experience and a wide knowledge of products/manufacturers. Through CHA-UK and the support of strong likeminded members, there's a real opportunity to galvanise re-sellers to become more aware of business, consumer and market needs. I'm keen to share my experience with our CHA-UK members, assist in developing their business and at the same time, develop our membership through stronger links with art and creative crafts.”
Stuart Caller, General Manager at Korbond has worked in the Craft and Haberdashery business for the last 10 years and has built a considerable amount of knowledge across the whole supply chain and market sector during this time. “I believe the CHA-UK is establishing itself as the cornerstone and respected voice within the vibrant, vast and diverse UK Craft and Hobby industry and can continue to deliver value and stimulate growth by providing the environment and stimulus to connect people within the industry. By encouraging engagement across all sectors the CHA-UK can facilitate industry connections to ensure we have successful innovations from designers, great brands and products from suppliers, profitable and knowledgeable retailers servicing the millions of UK crafters and hobbyists and great publishers shouting about our exciting industry. CHA UK will continue to promote the benefits and deliver true value to our members and the industry and collectively, with our members and the board of directors, the CHA-UK experience, passion and tools will continue to stimulate growth within our industry.”
The CHA board would like to thank Colin Poole and Chris Crombie who've now retired from the CHA-UK board of directors and who contributed and supported the organisation during their time serving on the board.
