Magnificent Decopatch Lion took centre stage for ExaClair, the UK supplier of brands such as Decopatch, Clairefontaine, Maildor, and Avenue Mandarine as they showcased its new and exciting products at this year's Craft, Hobby and Stitch Show.
“Our Decopatch lion grabbed the most attention,” says Nick Parry, Head of Arts and Crafts at ExaClair. “We had one of our designers decorate the magnificent maché lion, which stood over a metre tall and this head-turning piece was a great way to show off our new papers.”
The lion's body, paws and face were decorated in opulent and lively papers from the Tropical range, where green, geometric designs blended with stylish, floral papers. Papers from the tactile, Fuzzy Fur range were used for the lion's mane and muzzle and the result was stylish, fun and marked Decopatch's move into contemporary, fashion-forward designs.
A handsome penguin attracted considerable attention with a waistcoat made from musical score papers and a metallic finish to his wings, face and beak. Also popular were the floral, sparkly and super-kitsch Royalties designs that another of ExaClair's designers expertly decorated jewellery with. Appealing to those looking for more classic papers, was the Colour Burst range, where textured, subtle patterns are ideal for home décor projects.
“Overall the show was a great success,” concludes Nick. “Visitors loved the quantum leap we made in our designs and it's given us great confidence in their success.”
