To celebrate World Art Day on Tuesday 15th April, The brief is launching a new competition open to any artist anywhere in the world!
An opportunity to appreciate all the amazing talent across the world, but also to raise awareness of low paid or unpaid internships in creative industries. Hopefully the competition will encourage creative companies to re-examine the opportunities they offer to provide more careers but also create a new wave of creative projects and initiatives that do not leave the artists out of pocket or at a financial lose and doesn't necessarily have to be at any unreasonable expense to a business. For example, a simple case of offering two part-time internships rather than only offering one full-time internship will allow interns to find paid work or freelancing while learning on the job.
It's completely free for artists to enter, and completely free for people to vote.
On Tuesday 1st April, a 48 hour brief will be announced to create a piece of artwork to submit by email.
The piece of artwork can be any medium from painting, drawing, photography, digital or even video.
The only requirement is it has to be square (and preferably 300 dpi), or for video entries a maximum length of 15 seconds.
During the following two weeks, people will be able to vote for their favourite entry via The Brief's Instagram or Tumblr page.
The entry with the most votes by World Art Day will be declared the winner. The winning artist will win a goody bag of Art supplies along with press and exposure on some major international art sites.
Follow The Brief @TheBrief2014 on Twitter, Tumblr or Instagram to watch out for The Brief announcement and for instructions of where to submit your artwork to.
