This flagship event from Upper Sreet Events at Alexandra Palace has been running annually since 1991 and has become the largest and most highly regarded textiles and craft event in the UK. With loyal visitors return year after year, the Knitting and Stitching show offers a winning formula of inspiration, shopping and learning.
As the name suggests, it covers knitting and stitching but also crochet, embroidery, patchwork and quilting, felt-making, shibori dyeing, jewellery-making, card-making, felt, embossing and more. There's lots to see and do you'll find it hard to fit everything into one day with hundreds of exhibitors selling specialist supplies that you can't find in the shops, galleries from leading artists and groups, plus hundreds of workshops to introduce you to lots of new subjects!
The First Steps lounge has lots of initiatives for anyone who wants to get started with crafts, so whether you are in to cross stitch as a hobby or you're a mixed media artist with a studio.
NEW FOR 2013
The Knitting & Stitching Show has a special late night opening on Thursday 10th October to allow visitors a chance to enjoy the show at more a leisurely pace, with all stands and galleries open throughout the afternoon and evening. There will also be a host of special activities to help celebrate the opening day of the event including Gallery Tours and exclusive Book signings from some of the world's leading textile and craft authors.
The Learning Curve offers a series of inspiring taster sessions in a number of fabulous craft subjects. Teachers are carefully selected according to their expertise and experience who will be offering lots of new subjects this year.
