Manchester Basic Retail Training Day has a new date – 9th May!
CHA-UK Training Days Prove Vital Business Tools
Following the runaway success of its first two retail training days in Birmingham and London in April, the CHA-UK is now inviting craft retailers to sign up for its next course to be held in Manchester on 9th May.
As part of its Basic Retail Training Roadshow, the CHA-UK training days aim to support and educate craft retailers and provide a great syllabus for new staff in retail outlets, for new store owners and are an excellent refresher course for established retailers. The course is designed to go over the basics of retailing, whilst focusing on a selection of advanced techniques, like:
· Store Layouts
· In store events
· Inventory Management
· Basic Demonstration Techniques and benefits of YouTube · Customer servic
· Loyalty Schemes
· Importance of Database Management
It also provides the perfect opportunity to network and ask questions of industry specialists and the CHA-UK team.
What others had to say:
“Although entitled 'Basic Retail Training', the Birmingham session was well worth the time spent in attending,” enthuses Rowan at Mountain Ash Crafts. “Whether you are new to craft retail or old hands, it's always useful to be reminded of the basics and compare notes with others in the trade. The well-designed course was presented in a professional and relaxed style by the team and came with a wealth of knowledge and experience. There are several bright ideas I will be implementing in our own shop,” he adds.
Jenny who runs The Stamp Connection, attended the first of the CHA-UK's Basic Retail Training evenings just outside London and found the event very informative. “The seminar was an amalgamation of retailers, wholesalers and distributors who had collated their views of retailing in the craft industry today,” she explains. “Emphasis was on all aspects of retailing: in store, website, customer service and more, and was succinct and to the point. I would recommend anyone who owns a store, be it online or bricks and mortar to attend one of CHA-UK's seminars, as you will be surprised at what you learn.”
The previous sessions also proved useful for new retailers as Penny at Duck House Crafting explains, “I was impressed by the support and advice I was offered and the experience from other retailers was invaluable. I was made to feel welcomed and not judged or dismissed because of my inexperience.”
With places still available on the Manchester training sessions, those who sign up can expect a wealth of information and be able to network with likeminded people.
Sponsored by 3L and Tonic Studios, the session will run from 6-9.30pm (depending on networking) and will cost £5 per seat for CHA-UK members and £15 per seat non-members, refreshments will be provided.
Tickets are limited at each event, so please book early by contacting CHA-UK on 01206 364 977 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
