Known as The DMC Design Collective, it’s a brand-new project that will see a selection of artists create limited edition DIY embroidery kits. Hiedra is the artistic name used by Sofia Salazar, whose work revolves around the female figure, using elements of classical sculpture and Greek mythology. “We want to encourage craft, self-creation and the meditation of handmade,” says Jade Harwood, Creative Director. “This collaboration marks a cornerstone of how embroidery is no longer seen as a grandmother’s pastime, but a way to make your own mark on fashion and your own wardrobe.” Kits will be sold through the Paper Mache Tiger store. dmc.com Monkey business Designed by Mandy Cameron, this Knitty Critter kit contains all the materials needed to crochet Charlie Chimp.
