MATERIALS NEEDED • Blank sheet of 90lb (250gsm) cardstock • 3⁄8in (1cm) strips of 90lb (250gsm) card stock • 2¾ x 11⁄8in (7 x 3cm) dark yellow paper x 1 • 11 x 3⁄8in (28 x 1cm) light pink paper x 2 • 11 x 3⁄8in (28 x 1cm) pink paper x 1 • 11 x 3⁄8in (28 x 1cm) white paper x 1 TOOLS • Scissors • Needle or compass • Tweezers • White glue • Black, red and green pens • Quilling tool (optional) This extract was taken from Quilling Art by Sena Runa, published by GMC. (Here, the outline has been darkened for clarity.) 1 Use strips of cardstock to prepare the outline (see page 12). 2 Make a tight coil (see page 15) using the dark yellow paper. 3 Cut the edge of the coil as shown. 4 Place it at the top of the outline. 5 Make an open coil (see page 15) using a light pink strip. Apply a thin layer of glue to the bottom of the coil and place it as shown. 6 Make an S shape (see page 18) using a pink strip. Apply a thin layer of glue to the bottom of the shape and place it below the dark pink strip placed in the previous step. 7 Make an open coil using a pink strip. Apply a thin layer of glue to the bottom of the coil and place it below the pink strip placed in the previous step. 8 Make a V shape using a white strip, then bend the ends outwards as shown. 9 Place it in the stem and base of the cocktail glass. 10 Make another V shape and bend the ends outwards, then place it above the previous one. 11 Following the template, make a strawberry. Colour it in and cut it out. Stick it at the top left of the glass and your cocktail is complete! 12
