BCTF SET FOR BUMPER SHOW Open to both seasoned sellers and aspiring hopefuls, the British Craft Trade Fair is the largest event of its kind in the world, bringing together almost 500 of the industry’s most talented designers. With each exhibitor geared up to supply the trade, the event looks set to be unmissable for independent craft shops and other, similar retailers. This season’s event takes place at The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, from 8 th -10 th April. Organisers of the beautifully presented show aim to provide buyers with plenty of fresh inspiration and a chance to view, select and order some of the UK’s best art and craft. The fair was established more than 40 years ago and has gone from strength to strength during that time. British-made goods have enjoyed a huge resurgence recently, and BCTF will be bringing together the very best, all under one roof. The event’s manager, Margaret Bunn, has developed and managed the fair for the last 12 years and is very proud of her exhibitors, many of whom she considers to be producing the antiques and collectables of tomorrow. “British craft and design has come of age over recent years and is currently very cool, with customers wanting to buy home and gift that is handmade with integrity and passion,” she explains. “Our exhibitors have also become far more professional and much of this has come about as a direct result of our mentoring programme, which ensures that exhibitors are ready to supply trade buyers.” To register for a ticket, go to bctf.co.uk GET SET FOR CHSI STITCHES craft focus 23 shows and events
